Olives

Something that I love about photographing nearly all of my meals is that I can track the phases I'm going through.

Summer of 2010 features fruit, fruit, fruit and more fruit in all sorts of wild combinations. Since I didn't actually go raw until September, there are many photos containing chickpeas that came out of a can from the summer.

September 2010 shows off many desserts; peach cobbler, banana cakes, lots of photos containing little crab apples, and lots of celery with almond butter.

October 2010 displays a clear fixation with raw granola. Everything that can be done with soaked buckwheat, raw almond milk, and berries. Lots of "nut bread" and pies, including the banana pies and pumpkin pies.

November 2010; lots of cranberries, grapefruit, cranberry sauce, and much guacamole.

Photos from November 30th 2010:

I never liked olives before. I tried black olives, green olives, stuffed olives, etc. Never liked them. I gave the plain raw olives from the raw section at Whole Foods a try because my husband was eating them. Turns out I love them. How bizarre.

Kansas

With some difficulty, I pulled together what I needed to eat the above while on a ranch in Kansas.

Ready-To-Eat Fruit Bowl

Sometimes a simple fruit bowl is wonderful just by itself.

Sweet & Spicy Salsa

Made from hot peppers, bell peppers, onions, and fresh herbs.

I fell behind on my logging due to preparation for a string of holiday events, but I still continued taking photos, hence why the blog content suddenly becomes more photo-based from November 10th entry forward.

Cranberries

Guacamole is traditionally an all-raw dish to begin with, but I make it into a more complex and healthy dish than the casual chip-dip that is often seen at parties and gatherings. For tips, ideas, my personal experience and a boost to your dip-making as well as your health check out my Guacamole Recipe-Blog Entry.

Chocolate Banana Pudding & Guac

While November looks like lots and lots of guacamole, each of the guacamole dips I've made has been quite unique. Some have bell peppers in excess, some have only a little, some have none. Some have red onions, some yellow, some white. Sometimes I had them with sunflower "bread" (made from dehydrated seeds and vegetables) and sometimes I had it just with lettuce. Sometimes I used sprouts, sometimes broccoli, sometimes chard or kale. Sometimes I used lemon chunks, sometimes I blended the lemon entirely. Etc.

All of the ingredients that follow have appeared in my guacamole at least once (and I may have even missed a few):

Cranberries
Avocado
Tomato
Tomatillo
Bell Pepper
Hot Pepper
Red/Yellow/White Onion
Garlic
Lemon
Cucumber
Sprouts
Broccoli
Kale
Spinach
Chard
Chia Seeds
Ground Flax / Whole Flax Seeds
Cold-Pressed Organic Olive Oil
Coconut Oil
Coconut Juice
Tangerine Juice
Apple Cider (Raw from the farmer's market.)

Chocolate Banana Pudding is one of my favorite raw puddings to make. There are number of different ways to make raw pudding on my raw pudding page.

Half An Apple & Mandarin Oranges

Half an apple at a time is often plenty.

The above photo is a meal for two.

Fresh-Cracked Nuts

I've grown skilled with a nut-cracker. I've found that it is actually quiet enjoyable to crack nuts, and quiet rewarding since the flavor is so much better.
